Week In Nerdom 3-12 - Tool Tour, Apex Leaks, Suicide Squad Cast &MORE!

In music we have some good news, if you are into the nu-metal and post nu-metal sounds of Staind. Before starting a solo set this passed
Friday, Aaron Lewis teased the possibility of a reunion for his one time chart topping band. He also hinted at the probability of new Staind
live shows in the latter portion of this year.

Next in music is more from Tool. There is going to be a Stateside tour kicking off early May. Which likely means that when Maynard told us
a month ago or so that the new record would be out sometime between mid-may to mid-july, he wasn't setting out lofty goals.

Let's jump into TV news.

First is Batwoman. Executive Producer Sarah Schecter told the Wrap that Batman is "off limits for the foreseeable future." So they are
going to treat the Caped Crusader much like they decided to in Titans, referrence him heavily, and avoid showing him as much as possible.
Schecter also spoke about the situation in Gotham that is cause for Batwoman to start fighting crime. It seems Batman has been missing in
action for about 3 years. Which is a different take on the character, but we will have to wait and see how it plays out.

Next, Terry Gilliam fans rejoice! The Time Bandits, one of the filmmaker's notable movies, is getting a TV series. Or, at least a pilot. Set to be written and directed by Taika
Waititi for Apple and Executive Produced by Waititi, Gilliam and Dan Halstead.

That does it for TV on to Movies.

First is Captain Marvel, proving that a "boycott" from a small faction of online haters can't stop the Disney machine. Brie Larson it seems
is taking the opening weekend to levels pretty far beyond expectations. Coming in at $455 million world wide Captain Marvel is officially
the second largest opening weekend for a superhero movie ever.

Next, Fox is adapting Eisner Award winning comic book Mouse Guard, and they have cast Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. If you don't know
Serkis, then you likely live in a rock and I would like to officially welcome you to nerd culture in the 21st century. Brodie-Sangster
though might not exactly be a household name yet. He was Peter Pan in the Once Upon a Time series, and Liam Neeson's son in Love Actually.
Serkis will  be playing Midnight, the villain of the story. Brodie-Sangster will be Lieam, a new member of the Guard.

And our final movie update comes from Collider about the new Suicide Squad movie. The rest of the roster of villains-turned-reluctant-heroes
has been released. The characters reportedly joining Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Idris Elba's Deadshot are Ratcheter, King Shark,
Mister Polka Dot, and Peacemaker. Rumor also suggests that Dave Bautista is being eyed to play Peacemaker in the James Gunn helmed film.

Now let's talk GAMING
Really just have one quick Apex Legends leaks. (The lack of Mortal Kombat news shocked me too). This leak comes, as most Apex leaks do, from
data miners. It seems there are rocket launchers in our future.

And the final section as usual is comic books.

Just one piece in comics as well. Dark Horse will be putting out a new book based on the Fox series The Orville. The book will start July 17th
and will take place between the first and second seasons of the show. It will be a 4 issue arc, which is set to contain the events of the
equivalent of 2 episodes on the series.
