Adventures in Photography
This is the second Adventure in Photography. I start with a failed trip out to Night on the Town in downtown Loveland. But, the next day was Pastels on 5th, which got some good footage. For the last bit, I headed to Denver with my girlfriend for an event with Bloodmilk Jewelry. It was a fun video, but I can do better

Comic Con: The Truth No One Wants To Admit... Kinda
There are some interesting numbers about the top ranking Nerd Conventions in our country. With there being something like 500 nerdy conventions in the USA let's break down some of the differences and analyze what their popularity means, after the jump.

Dark Hearts and Things
So it took me a little longer than I had hoped (read: 2 weeks) but the first ACTUAL "Adventures in Photography" video is up.
Watch it and let me know what you think.

The bush was a tricky climb, there were lots of thorns and narrow paths, but the climb was still nearly as fast as climbing the thread.
They reached the window, and Grayson was in luck, it was open. It was a tilt-type window, rather than one that needed to be lifted to open. The tilt opened at the top, which meant the jump from the bush would be a little tricky.
Both mice made the jump with less effort than they though they would need. Now they were in. Next was the climb down, and Grayson once again was hoping he was right.
Grayson peaked his head over the window ledge, and there it was a gaping hole in the side of the spider’s house.
“We’re good,” he said to Sweetie. “Wish me luck,” he said as he began to climb down.

Video - How To Comic Con
Continuing with the discussion we stared a couple weeks ago about people who have never been to comic con before. Here is a video, the first of a small series, with some pointers.

Convention Life
Reading through some Facebook group posts, I saw some people posting about how they have never been to a nerd convention before. This is 2017, nerd culture is at its peak (possibly even headed on the other side of the peak), and there are over 500 nerd conventions across the country. What are you people waiting for? Being into "nerdy" things has never been more en vogue, and never will it be like this again.
Let's do a generalized walk-through of an average nerd convention.

13 Reasons...
This piece has been stewing for about 2 weeks at this point... and possibly longer by the time I actually publish it. It needs to be written though.
On March 31st 2017, Netflix released a series to stream called 13 Reasons Why about a group of teenagers dealing with the aftermath of one of their friend's suicide. The series is narrated by the disembodied voice of the dead girl, each episode being a side of a cassette tape (yeah... its a whole thing) she recorded explaining why her suicide was all of their faults.
This is the place for the disclaimer. I, being a human being, have strong opinions about both the overt, obvious subject of this series, and the slightly more hidden, underlying issues that it refuses to acknowledge. Also, Spoiler Alert! I am going to talk about some details that will ruin the ending and other major plot points. If you haven't seen this show, and care about such things, then stop reading now. Otherwise, more after the jump...

Unnecessary Change in Popular Characters
So this is a conversation that may, on the surface, seem to be an about face on a stance I have taken in the past, and will continue to take: Changing an established "non-diverse" character into a "diverse" one for no other reason than to show off how diverse a creator/publisher/company is. There are ways to change an established character to fit a "more diverse" classification so as to not disturb the fan base.

The Oscars... And Awards Shows in General
This is almost 2 weeks over due... better late than never I suppose.
I am, in my opinion at least, a well rounded nerd. Part of that, to me at least, requires an awareness of trends and popular things in our culture today. What better way than awards shows?

Nerdy Sexuality
This is an interview I did last year at Denver Comic Con.
I just thought it was a good way to bring up Sexuality in Nerd Culture... which is really just an expansion on the CosPlay discussion.

New Regular Series
So about two weeks ago I had an idea. All the "advice" channels on YouTube and everywhere else on the internet say that you need to post regularly and AT LEAST once a week. So what can a nerd like me do to ensure that there is something to post once a week? A "Week In..." series that's what. My only second thought was, "But everyone does a damn weekly nerd video of some sort. Hell, that's why The Nerdist even exists."

It was awesome to be able to interview Terrance Zdunich and his writing partner Saar Hendelman. I have been a fan of Terrance's work since Repo! The Genetic Opera. With everything he has released since my fondness for his craft, and subsequently Saar's, grows deeper.
My apologies for the first 8 minutes of mediocre audio, sometimes there are too many record buttons to keep track of. I promise the quality gets much better.
I chose to tag team this interview with my co-host from Eclectica Cafe, Chance.
Join the conversation in the comments section. Tell Me what Chance and I did wrong, or right.
