TV Week In Nerdom 10-23 - Netflix Updates, Harley Quinn gets animated, a...

Nerdy TV news for the week!

October Faction
Netflix is taking a stab at their own version of Supernatural. They just announced that Tamara Taylor (Bones) and J.C. MacKenzie (The O.A.) have been cast as the leads in their new series. It is an adaptation of an IDW comic, and will have Damien Kindler (Sleepy Hollow, Krypton) as showrunner.

Luke Cage
Last week it was Iron Fist, which most of us saw coming, now it’s Luke Cage. Is this a sign of things to come? The Disney streaming app is coming very soon at this point. Will they renew these shows over there? Is this the last season for daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Punisher as well? Or could Netflix be gearing up for a Heroes for Hire series?

Art style is in the vein of Venture Bros. Seems to be self-aware, but is that enough to save it?

Supernatural
Contrary to popular belief, Michael possessed Dean is NOT the main antagonist. We learned this in last week’s episode-ish.

Pennyworth
Won’t be related to the show which we do not speak of, but it will be a prequel of a different kind.
Showing the untold early days of Bruce Wayne’s future butler Alfred Pennyworth, the upcoming series takes place in 1960s London and follows the titular character fresh out of the British military and forming his own private security company with Bruce’s eventual father Thomas Wayne. The series stars Jack Bannon as its title character with Ben Aldridge (Synchronicity, Reign) as Thomas Wayne, Paloma Faith (imaginarium of Dr. Parnasus) as Bet Sykes, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, and Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza.

What did I miss? What should we talk about next week?
