Venom is one of a slew of Marvel books getting rebooted... kinda. Part of the "Fresh Start" initiative, much of the Marvel universe is getting re-numbered. Though they will maintain their legacy numbering as well. In the new Venom story, Eddie Brock is afraid of the symbiote, and they have to face off against a 1000 year old evil that has links to the dark past of the symbiote as well as the entire Marvel universe.
