Music Week In Nerdom 3-5

This week in Music.

Warped Tour discussion... Let me take the time right now to correct slightly on this topic. I have learned since filming that about half the bands I talk about in this video that are on the bill for the final Warped Tour are on a limited amount of dates. Some of them are on for about half the tour (i.e. August Burns Red) and a couple are on for 1 or 2 dates (i.e. Underoath and Less Than Jake). It sucks, but things happen right?

Godsmack is putting out a new album. Their first single is called "Bulletproof." Here is the thing I don't get about bands that compromise their sound in order to make money. When you water down your sound you shorten your potential longevity. So, it seems that in order to make a quick buck now, bands like this sabotage all the money they could make in the future. Because once you begin to water down your sound to increase airplay, you start to fall quickly into obscurity/irrelevance. But maybe that's just me...

Nekrogoblikon have ALSO released a new track from their forthcoming album Welcome to Bonkers. The song is called "The Skin Thief." It is pretty rad... gimmick or no, I appreciate the crap out of this band.
