Music Week In Nerdom 3-19

This week in the Music Nerdom.

Skid Row is completing a triple album plan with the final United World Rebellion sequence. This album is the first one with new vocalist ZP Theart, who used to front Dragonforce. They have also announced collaborations with Corey Taylor and members of Halestorm (Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger).

Unearth have signed a new deal with Century Media, just in time for them to go into the studio to record the follow up to their 2014 album Watchers of Rule.

Easter Sunday is the day we are going to get Alice Cooper as King Herrod and John Legend as Jesus in the live TV production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross told BBC radio that the new Nine Inch Nails EP will be out before June 22.

Luke Steele from Empire of the Sun and Daniel Johns from Silverchair are teaming up for a project they are calling "Dreams." They put out their first single in preparation for Coachella next month. The track is called "No One Defeats Us." This song is more Empire of the Sun than Silverchair, and it suffers greatly for it. Shallow quasi-dancy anti-pop song with no direction and even less dynamic presence... I miss Silverchair.

Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things is in a band called Calpurnia. They just released their first official single called "City Boy." The song debuted on billboard's digital song downloads chart at number 17. The tune is pretty good. It is a very retro sounding pop-rock tune, that owes a lot to the indie movement of the mid to late 90s, which in turn owes a lot to the classic rock circa 1960 or so.
