Fandome AGAIN! And Squashing MORE Rumors | Week In Nerdom

Blink 182
The Matt Skiba rumors are not true! Skiba is still the guitar player and vocalist for the band. As confirmed by Mark Hoppus on instagram.

Fandome - DC Comics and HBO Max are both teasing Green Lantern info at the digital con. The schedule is now live, and you can build your own:
Supernatural - The brothers Winchester will be returning for their final 7 episodes on Oct. 8.

The Boys
Looks like Jensen Ackles will be joining the cast for season 3 as Soldier Boy, the very first superhero in the series’ mythos.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Alex Kurtzman told Deadline that the new Trek series will see a return to more episodic content. There will still be longer form storytelling, but by-and-large it will be told in smaller episode to episode chunks like Trek of old.

Thirty anime studios have teamed up to bring us a FREE anime streaming channel on YouTube. The channel is currently only available in Japan, but they will eventually open up to international (U.S. Included) audiences. They are rolling out content from the studios responsible for Doraemon, Astro-boy, Hunter x Hunter, Akira, One Piece, and Pokemon. By 2022 they plan to have over 3000 separate titles. All subbed apparently.

Fandome - James Gunn has confirmed Suicide Squad footage for the event. James Wan teases some elucidation on the horror elements planned for Aquaman 2.
Matrix 4 - Laurence Fishbourne will apparently NOT be in the movie.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire
The directors of the animated movie, Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale, have shot down the rumor that their movie is on the list of live action adaptations.

Fandome -  The OFFICIAL reveal of the Suicide Squad game comes from the scheduling app? The leak was legit, and it will be called Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
TikTok - Now Oracle has thrown their hat in the ring.

Comic Books/Books

DC Cancellations
The inevitable has happened.
Batgirl, Batman and The Outsiders, and Justice League Odyssey ends in October. Teen Titans, Young Justice, Suicide Squad, Hawkman, and John Constantine: Hellblazer, with The Batman's Grave and Metal Men limited series also reaching their planned end in November.
ALSO, Jim Lee has squashed the rumor that Marvel might acquire DC Comics

Ready Player Two
Will Wheaton will read the audio book once again.

Bela Lugosi ISN’T dead it would seem. There is a new Dracula book coming from Legendary Comics using the classic actor’s likeness with official approval from the Lugosi estate.

The new Joker bae is getting her own one-off book giving us a more proper look at her origin. To be on shelves this November. Writers; James Tynion IV and Sam Johns, Art; Mirka Andolfo.

Rumor Mill

Star Wars
Along with some of the other rumors we have discussed, now it sounds like there is a desire to bring Kylo Ren back for future movies or a Disney+ series.
In Other Rumors…
In spite of recent anti-rumor concerning the demise of the successor series following Rebels, it DOES seem that the series IS still in motion.

Project Power
Netflix is reportedly considering the superhero a la limitless movie for a series. It sounds like it could be either a proper series, OR a series of movies.

Apex Legends
Data miners have found text that seems to imply another new map in the game. This time it is going to be a tropical location… whatever that may mean.

Fantastic Four
Marvel just registered 2 new production companies, Grass-Fed Productions and Solve Everything Productions. One of which seems to imply Fantastic Four could be gearing up for production.
IF it IS F4 that is being pushed forward, then the name could imply we might be seeing the council of Reeds from the comics, according to another rumor.
