Week In Nerdom 2-22 - Bill & Ted 3, Scott Stapp, Howard the Duck &MORE!

Scott Stapp
In a strange turn of events, the former Creed lead singer has inked a deal with legendary metal label Napalm Records. Does this imply a new heavier direction for the radio rock icon turned alcoholic jesus complex? No… no, not likely.

Jessica Jones
Melissa Rosenberg, series creator, hinted on her twitter account that we haven’t seen the last of Kilgrave just yet.

Green Eggs and Ham
Netflix has announced a new animated show, that seems a little too good to be true. Mostly because of who is reported to be in the cast.
which includes Michael Douglas as the book’s reluctant eater, Guy-I-Am, and Diane Keaton as a character named Michellee. The series supporting cast includes Eddie Izzard as an “evil overlord” named Snerz, Jeffrey Wright and Jillian Bell as a pair of villains named McWinkle and Gluntz, Adam Devine as protagonist Sam-I-Am and Keegan Michael Key as the story’s narrator. Additionally, John Turturro will voice a goat, Tracey Morgan a fox, and Daveed Diggs a mouse.

Haunting of Bly Manor
The Haunting anthology series has been renewed for a second season that will be called the Haunting of Bly Manor. It will be an adaptation of the gothic novella The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James.

It seems the George R.R. Martin stamp isn’t a failsafe. Syfy just announced that Nightflyers will not get a second season.

Making Star Wars is reporting that the Obi-Wan movie that was shelved seems to have been turned into a series on Disney+.

Howard The Duck
Kevin Smith revealed on his Instagram that Lea Thompson will lend her voice to his Howard the Duck show on Hulu. He also said that there is going to be an animated duck version of Jay and Silent Bob.

Wonder Woman: Bloodlines
WB animation Studios is at it again. This time we have casting announced for the next Wonder Woman animated movie. Rosario Dawson, Nia Vardalos, Adrienne C. Moore, Constance Zimmer, Courtenay Taylor, Cree Summer, Kimberley Brooks, Marie Avgeropoulos, Michael Dorn, Mozhan Marno and Ray Chase have joined the cast of the animated film, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines in currently undisclosed roles.

Bill & Ted Face the Music
According to the movie’s official twitter page, the movie goes into production later this month!

Star Wars IX
According to Star Wars News Net, the wait for the first Ep 9 trailer will come to an end this April with the release of Avengers: Endgame.

Nintendo of America President, Regis Fils-Aime, has announced he will be retiring this April after 15 years with the company. The fittingly named Doug Bowser will step in once Regis is gone.

Blizzard seems to be teasing a new hero for their landmark FPS. The teases are pretty vague, but the hardcore community is convinced they are about a new hero named Baptiste. As for when and how the reveal will actually take place, mum is the word from Blizzard so far.

Spider-Man Noir
Marvel is releasing a collection of the newly popular alternate version of the most emo of the Parkers. The collection, announced as part of the new ComicsPRO series, will be on shelves this May.

Also coming in May is a new DC event called DCeased. That is drawing some comparisons to Marvel Zombies. (W) Tom Taylor (Injustice) (A) Trevor Harisine, Stefano Gaudiano, James Harren

Hulk Retcon
In Immortal Hulk #13 Marvel has retconned the origins of the Big Green Menace. Now, instead of Banner’s origin being entirely scientific, they have added a magical element. It seems that Gamma radiation opens the “Green Door” which is a gateway to the One Below All (basically the Devil), and allows the One Below All to turn whomever is on the otherside and touched by the gamma radiation into his Avatar on earth. The Hulk is the greatest of these avatars, but others include Sasquatch, and, most recently, Absorbing Man.
