Movies Week In Nerdom 11-7 - Birds of Prey, Friday the 13th craziness, O...

Nerdy Movie News!

Alien 5
Sigurney Weaver and James Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter that they still think Neil Blomkamp’s script is a good idea. Riddley Scott be damned, they wanna make this movie, but the scheduling doesn’t make it easy.

Friday the 13th
A tale of rights and who owns them. LeBron James’ production company it seems is going forward with their Friday the 13th movie, but they don’t have the rights to the character of Jason Vorhees. They DO have Victor Miller, who is the producer on one side of the ugly legal battle that went on for years, fighting over the rights of the horror franchise. On the OTHER side is Sean Cunningham a writer in the beginning years of the franchise, who won the rights to the character of Jason.

Birds of Prey
Ewan McGregor has been cast as Black Mask! They are also shooting for an “R” rating.

Night of the Living Dead
There was a sequel planned and penned but never made. Now it is. Set to be released next year (probably in October), and produced as a direct sequel to the 68 classic. Also set to be produced by the Living Dead Media.

Boba Fett
Officially Cancelled.

What did I miss? What should we talk about next week?
